Gustavo Dudamel of Venezuela

Internationally renowned symphonic and operatic conductor from Venezuela, Gustavo Dudamel, visited Wadsworth House for a visit with the Marshal prior to a "Creative Class" in Sanders Theater co-sponsored by the Office for the Arts and the Center for Public Leadership (CPL). He was accompanied by Deborah Borda, former President and CEO of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and current Visiting Leader at CPL.

His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, delivered a lecture at Harvard sponsored by the Nigeria in the World Seminar and the Center for African Studies. Earlier in the day, he visited Wadsworth House for a welcome with the University Marshal. They were joined by Professor Jacob Olupona, Professor of African and African American Studies and Chair of the Nigeria in the World Seminar, Professor Emmanuel Akyeampong, Faculty Director of the Center for African Studies, and Professor Bill Alford, Director of International Legal Studies.

German Bundestag delegation

A group of MP's from the German Bundestag participating in an executive education program at the Harvard Kennedy School visited Wadsworth House on the last day of their program. They had a welcome and overview with the University Marshal followed by a short tour of the Yard.

Tsinghua University delegation

October 12, 2016

Professor Han Jingyang, Vice Chair of the Tsinghua University Council, visited Harvard with some colleagues to explore possible collaborations on a service learning program for undergraduates. After a short welcome with the University Marshal, they met with representatives from the Harvard China Fund and the Office of Career Services.

British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson

Foreign Secretary of the UK and former mayor of London, Boris Johnson, visited the University Archives at Harvard to view material pertaining to Harvard's 1943 special convocation honoring Sir Winston Churchill.  Secretary Johnson recently wrote a book about Churchill, and greatly enjoyed the opportunity to see the photos, video clip, correspondence and other related material presented by University Archivists Megan Sniffin-Marinoff and Barbara Meloni.  Tara Benedict of the Marshal's Office also took him on a short tour.

Fall 2016 Institute of Politics Fellows

The fall 2016 cohort of fellows from the Institute of Politics visited Wadsworth House for a welcome with Jackie O'Neill and a short tour of Harvard Yard. This fall's fellows include: activist Peter Staley, Republican party operative David Kochel, retired US Army General James Hill, Deputy Campaign Manager (for Carly Fiorina) Sarah Isgur Flores, ABC News reporter Ann Compton, and New York State Assemblyman from the Bronx Michael A. Blake.
