New Faculty welcome at Wadsworth House

The Marshal's Office hosted a welcome at Wadsworth House and short tour of Harvard Yard for a few new Harvard faculty members. They were joined by Judy Singer, Senior Vice Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity, and Elizabeth Ancarana, Assistant Provost for Faculty Development and Diversity.
 

Dutch universities honors delegation

November 6, 2018
A group of about 20 students and faculty from various Dutch universities visited Harvard while in Boston for the National Collegiate Honors' Conference. After a welcome with Margot Gill at Wadsworth House, they had a meeting about the social sciences and honors education at Harvard with Noel Bisson, Anya Bassett, Virginia Maurer and Terry Aladjem. They rounded out their morning with a tour of the Yard with an undergraduate student guide.

First Year Family Weekend Open House at Wadsworth House

The Office of the University Marshal hosted an open house at Wadsworth House as part of First Year Family Weekend. Parents, siblings, and grandparents enjoyed the opportunity to see inside one of Harvard's oldest buildings, hear a bit about the history of Harvard, and to learn about Commencement. Carmen Yulín Cruz, Mayor of San Juan

The Mayor of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Carmen Yulín Cruz, received the 2018 Robert Coles "Call to Service" Award from the Philips Brooks House Association. Prior to the event at Memorial Church, she came to Wadsworth House with PBHA Executive Director Maria Dominguez Gray, Nonprofit Management Fellow Michael Leonard, and three undergraduate students. After a lively conversation with Interim Marshal Margot Gill, Mayor Cruz signed the university guest book.

Zhejiang University delegation

The Vice President of Zhejiang University, Jianhong Luo, visited Harvard with a delegation of officials interested in learning about Harvard's approach to undergraduate liberal education. The Inauguration of Harvard's 29th President

On Friday, October 5, 2018, Harvard University formally installed Lawrence Bacow as its 29th President. The Marshal’s Office was involved in many aspects of the planning of this momentous event, but was principally responsible for the inviting and hosting of delegates from other institutions who participated in the academic procession. The Marshal’s Office oversaw the operation of the delegates hospitality area at Boylston Hall the day of the event, which involved coordinating the efforts of dozens of volunteers and orchestrating the formation of the procession that kicked off...
