Suraya Dalil, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to the UN and International Organizations based in Switzerland, visited Harvard for two weeks as a Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health. An alumnus of the Chan School (MPH '05), Ambassador Dalil has worked with UNICEF, the International Organization for Migration, and Doctors Without Borders. As Minister of Health between 2010 - 2014, she led a health system reform effort and greatly improved the quality of care standards in Afghanistan, with particularly strong impact on child and maternal mortality indicators. She visited Wadsworth House to meet with Jackie O'Neill, accompanied by Leadership Fellows Program Director Eric Andersen and Program Coordinator Pauline Barr.
