The Consul for Social-Cultural and Information Affairs at the Indonesian Consulate General in New York, Mr. Winanto Adi, visited the Marshal's Office for a discussion about Indonesian students and researchers at Harvard.
A delegation of scholars from Indonesia visited the Harvard Divinity School (HDS) as part of State Department-sponsored program on strengthening moderate voices through higher education. Following a tour of Harvard Yard, the delegation had lunch with various Harvard faculty involved in Islamic studies and South Asian studies. They then had a tour of the HDS campus with a current student, and met with Dean David Hempton. Their visit concluded with a meeting with the Religion and the Practice of Peace Initiative. Prof. Dr. Musliar Kasim, Deputy Minister of Education and Culture for Indonesia, was at Harvard with a small delegation to visit the Indonesia Program at the Kennedy School. Program Director Betsy Osborn welcomed the group, with Jackie O'Neill, at Wadsworth House.
