A 22-person delegation of leaders from various universities and businesses in Denmark visited Harvard to learn about the "culture of excellence" in American higher education, and how universities, businesses and public sector all work together to achieve it. The Danish Minister for Higher Education and Science, Esben Lunde Larsen, visited Harvard with a delegation from the the Ministry as well as the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation. The purpose of the visit was to learn about various approaches to general education, new initiatives in teaching and learning, and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship in the sciences and engineering. After a welcome in Wadsworth House with the Marshal, the group had a full day of meetings on these topics.
Sofie Carsten Nielsen, the newly-installed Danish Minister of Science, Innovation and Higher Education, visited Wadsworth House to learn more about Harvard's advancements in teaching and learning. Following an overview with Jackie O'Neill, the Minister and her delegation heard presentations by the Harvard Initiative for Learning and Teaching (HILT) and HarvardX.
